Back to School Self-Defense
As August begins, thousands of students across the country and around the world are getting ready to migrate to Boston for their freshman year of college. College can be a nerve-racking time for both students and their parents. Freshman students worry about living on their own in a new place, meeting new people and making new friends, learning new subjects, and doing laundry for the first time. For parents, it’s having their children leave for the first time and making sure they’re well adjusted, safe, and successful.
Tulen Boston can help put some of those worries aside. Send your child off to college with fun and practical skills! Come join us in the Boston Commons for a free back to school self-defense class on Aug 15 from 10:30am – noon. Learn nonverbal, verbal, and physical self-defense skills that will not only help you feel safer living in a new city, but the confidence to use your voice in all situations (you never know when a professor will call on you.) It doesn’t matter if you’re getting ready to leave for college or have graduated many years ago – all ages and abilities welcome.

Congratulations to Instructor Amber Haskell on her graduation from Northeastern University!
Check out the terrific feature on Pendekkar Amber Haskell in the June 2015 Studio Naga Nagazette. I have had the privilege of knowing Pendekkar Amber since she first started training Tulen in Oakland with my good friend Mas Goeroe Agoeng Louise Rafkin. Pendekkar Amber is a terrific student and a leader and inspiration for her peers. We have Tulen Boston in large part because she has encouraged us to reach out and grow in the Boston Community. Terima kasih banyak (thank you) Pendekkar Amber and congratulations on your graduation from Northeastern! It’s Finally JUNE! Important news from Studio Naga.
